Custom Finger Prostheses in Singapore
People consider a finger prosthesis for different personal and practical reasons. At the Centre for Advanced Rehabilitation (CARe), our AHPC-registered hand therapy team works with BioDigit to offer custom silicone finger prostheses: we assess your hand, take the measurements and impression, and fit the finished device, while BioDigit makes each prosthesis individually for you.
Custom finger prostheses at CARe
BioDigit custom finger prostheses are made from medical-grade silicone, individually sculpted and colour-matched for each person. BioDigit does not sell its custom devices to the public: they are supplied to registered clinicians, who assess and fit them. BioDigit manufactures and quality-checks the prosthesis, and CARe provides the in-person assessment, measurements, impression, fitting and support afterwards.
Our fitting clinicians are Vincent Leow, Faith Ang, Pang Liying and Chen Zhiqing. They are AHPC-registered therapists specialising in hand therapy, and all have completed BioDigit's product training. All three CARe clinics are listed on BioDigit's clinician finder.
How it works: CARe and BioDigit
1. Assessment at CARe
Your therapist assesses your hand, including the remaining part of the finger and the skin around it, and discusses whether a prosthesis may be appropriate for you. It is also your chance to ask questions and talk through what you are hoping for.
2. Measurements, impression and colour matching
If you decide to go ahead, your therapist takes measurements and an impression, completes the colour-matching information BioDigit needs, and submits your case to BioDigit.
3. Made by BioDigit
BioDigit sculpts and colour-matches your prosthesis individually, then quality-checks it before it is sent to the clinic.
4. Fitting at CARe
The finished prosthesis is fitted in person by your CARe therapist, who checks it and signs it off against a standard.
5. Follow-up
CARe remains your point of contact afterwards. Contact us if you have any questions or concerns about your prosthesis after the fitting.
Who a finger prosthesis may suit
A registered clinician can assess your hand and discuss whether a custom finger prosthesis may be suitable for you, and what you hope to achieve with one.
If a wound on your hand is red, hot, increasingly swollen, draining fluid or becoming more painful, or you have a fever, see a doctor today. If you feel seriously unwell or the redness is spreading quickly, go to an emergency department. If you have an open wound or possible signs of infection, seek medical advice before arranging a fitting.
What to expect at your appointment
The process starts with an assessment by one of our BioDigit-trained therapists. When you book, ask whether you should bring any letters or reports from your surgeon or doctor. Your therapist will discuss whether a prosthesis is suitable, explain the process, and advise whether hand therapy should be considered before fitting.
Because each prosthesis is made individually, the process includes an in-person assessment and impression, followed by an in-person fitting once BioDigit has made and quality-checked your prosthesis.
Hand therapy alongside your prosthesis
CARe's hand therapy service includes scar management, oedema management and stiff hand management. Your therapist can discuss whether any of these may be relevant before your prosthesis is fitted.
After the fitting, follow the guidance your therapist gives you, and contact us if you have any concerns.

Frequently asked questions
Can I buy a BioDigit finger prosthesis directly?
No. BioDigit supplies its custom devices only to registered clinicians who fit them, and does not sell them directly to the public. At CARe, a BioDigit-trained therapist assesses your hand, takes the measurements and impression, and fits the finished prosthesis in person.
Does CARe make the prosthesis?
No. CARe handles the clinical side: assessment, measurements, the impression, fitting and follow-up. BioDigit makes each prosthesis individually and quality-checks it before it is sent to the clinic for your fitting.
My finger was injured recently. Can I be fitted now?
If you have an open wound or possible signs of infection, seek medical advice before arranging a prosthesis fitting. Otherwise, your clinician will assess when fitting can go ahead and whether hand therapy should be considered beforehand.
