Jiayen graduated with First Class Honours in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2013. She discovered her interest in sports rehabilitation through her wide clinical experience in various clinical settings. Following her passion, Jiayen pursued a Master of Advanced Clinical Physiotherapy (Sports) from the University of South Australia in 2019, and was awarded the Brooks Running Prize as top student in the programme. She is also certified in GEMt dry needling and is an internationally certified Mulligan Practitioner.

Jiayen has extensive experience in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic rehabilitation, as well as sports injury management. She has a keen interest in returning athletes safely to sport towards the end of their rehabilitation journeys. She believes in working collaboratively with her clients to optimise their recovery and in achieving their individual goals.

Jiayen's professional journey and excellence led her to serve as the lead physiotherapist in the Sports Medicine and Surgery Clinic at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. She was also part of the medical contingent at the 2023 and 2025 SEA Games, providing physiotherapy support to Team Singapore athletes.

Besides her clinical experiences, Jiayen was also actively involved in clinical research and education. Her involvement in research includes Total Knee Replacements (TKR), Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) pre-habilitation, and tennis elbow conditions. Recognised for her outstanding contributions to physiotherapy education, Jiayen received numerous accolades, including the NHG Teaching Award for Allied Health Educators and the Tan Tock Seng Hospital Clinical Educators Award. She also played a pivotal role in the development of Tan Tock Seng Hospital's first Residency Programme for physiotherapists.

Jiayen's passion in maximising her clients' physical potential and quality of life stems from her own interest in seeking new experiences - she has been involved in sports such as rock climbing, lifesaving, and underwater rugby, to name a few. Her adventure-seeking self also led her to scaling heights such as summiting Mt Kinabalu and Annapurna Base Camp. Currently, she enjoys running, hiking and rock climbing during her free time.
